Meramec Valley Library Sets Fall Programs

Children, teen and adult programs are on the schedule.

The Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 625 New Smizer Mill Rd., has scheduled a wide array of programs in November for children, teens and adults.

Children's programs

Story Time

Thursdays at 10 a.m. are designated as story time for kids 3-6 as the library hosts help develop early literacy skills by reading stories, learning finger plays and having fun.

The Story Time schedule is:

  • Nov. 15 - Let’s Be Thankful

Candy Creations

The library will be using candy as building materials to make unusual things at the Candy Creations program at 6 .m. No. 2. Ages 7-11. Registration is required. Limit 12.

Monday, November 5, 6:30 p.m.

Fall Fun

Fall and thanksgiving crafts, worksheets and activities will be the focus at the Fall Fun program at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5. Ages 7 & up. Registration is required. Limit 12.

Lap Time

Fun with songs, finger plays and stories for little ones from infants to 2 years will be featured at Lap Time at 10 a.m. Nov. 7 and Nov. 21.  Registration is required.

Play with Your Food

Kids who are tired of hearing adults say “Don’t play with your food” will have a respite at the Play With Your Food event at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov. 13 and Nov. 14. The librarians will take a look at books by author Saxton Freymann that feature creations made by using fruits and vegetables. Each child then will have an opportunity to create his or her own food art and take it home as a yummy treat. Ages 3-6. Registration is required. Limit 10.

Fancy Nancy Party

Th Fancy Nancy Party, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 15 will include making a variety of Fancy Nancy crafts and will include finger foods to eat. Dress-up is optional. Ages 3-7. 

Teen Programs

Teen Craft: Tote Bag

Make a t-shirt tote bag and earring holder or other item you choose at 6 p.m. Nov. 30 at a teen craft session. Make it for a holiday gift or for yourself. The shirt will be provided unless you have a favorite one you want to cut up. It must be men’s size L or XL. Ages 12-18.

Stylish Stitchers Group

Join our fun loving group the on the second Monday of each month. Knitters, crocheters, crafters—all skill levels are welcome.  No registration.  Light refreshments will be served.   Adults.

Book Discussion Group

Book TBA. At 7 p.m. Nov. 13. No registration.  Light refreshment served. Adults.
