Holiday Happenings for Carolers, Volunteers, Fun - and That Christmas Sweater Thing

Fenton and High Ridge have a multitude of activities taking place over the Christmas season for those who want to enjoy the good cheer or spread it tot others.

Christmas and the Holiday season is perhaps the busiest time of the year.  Fenton and High Ridge are buzzing with the holiday spirit. The stores and houses are decorated, sales are booming, Santas are taking kids wishes, and there are a lot of activities to join in on in this community.

Come join Miss Christine for story time. You can never tell what book she may choose or what kind of fun she has planned. Sometimes there are crafts, sometimes there are treats, but all of the time there will be stories and singing. In the Fenton Commons Shopping Center. Info: 636-326-4619

Third Annual Christmas Caroling Service with scripture inspired music.  Meeting point is St. Paul Catholic Church.  Following the caroling will be a reception in the cafeteria.

Drop and Shop. Your children will be entertained with Christmas games, crafts, movies and snacks while you get caught up on your shopping. "Hope Church is asking for an unwrapped toy for the Feed my People organization," said Denies Prange. Info: 314-795-1177

Hosting an Ugliest Christmas Sweater Contest from 8 p.m. – close.  The winner will receive a gift certificate to Grand Slam. Info: 636-343-0900

Third Annual Christmas Party for its customers.  All appetizers and food are free, and drinks are at happy hour prices. Mark Barker the owner said, "We will be open from 8am till 1am serving up free food for our customers." Info: 636-343-1037

Church members make nine gallons of chili and collect blankets, clothes, hats and gloves to take to the Hope City by the Mississippi River.  The organization would appreciate volunteers and donations. Info: 636-376-6861

Dinner theater, featuring "Hope Has Come,"  at the Hillsboro Civic Center. Tickets $12.50 for adults and $5.50 for children under 11. Info: 636-343-8001

Newcomers are welcome by Fenton Knitters Anonymous, a group that meets in the Barnes & Noble Cafe to knit, chat, learn and share. Info: 636-326-4619

Christmas carolers will meet and sing at 7 p.m. at the Dierberg's in Fenton, to be followed by carols at 7:45 p.m. at Kohl's in Gravois Bluffs and at 8:30 p.m. at Walmart in Gravois Bluffs.  "We would love for anyone to join in and enjoy caroling with us.  Everyone is welcome," said Patricia Stevenson secretary for the church. Offering a children's storytime featuring winter and holiday stories. The event is for children ages 3-6 and family. No registration is required.

Hosting a Toys for Tots Toy Drive.  Bring an unwrapped toy for the children. Maggie's also is hosting a Gingerbread house raffle for $1. The winner will be drawn and win a large GingerBread House.
