Fenton to Honor Heroes on Sept. 11
The Heroes Memorial at Fenton City Park will provide a fitting backdrop for the city's remembrance of the 9/11 attacks.
Fenton is hosting a “September 11 Tenth Anniversary Commemorative Ceremony” at 1 p.m., Sunday, at the Hero’s Memorial located in . The event is free and open to the public.
Kevin Whitehead, a survivor of the World Trade Center attack, will be the guest speaker. Whitehead is currently a resident of Richmond Heights, but in September 2001, he worked in New York City for Morgan Stanley on the 56th floor of the south tower.
Scouts from will perform a flag ceremony and the Chamber Choir will sing the National Anthem. Children Y.E.A.H. Kids will lay roses at the memorial and Eagle Scout Joshua Greathouse will play "Taps." The St. Louis County Police Bagpipers will also perform.
