On the page residents report their 'sightings' of the 40-50ish blonde, recently sighted in Kirkwood, Shrewsbury, Webster Groves, the Coldstone in Ronnies Plaza, and Fenton. Cindy’s ‘fans’ take candid photos of her as she travels about, post them on the site, and comment on her clothing and luggage.

Many offer tidbits of information on her or speculate on her past--such as her family has millions but won’t share it with her, her family is NOT wealthy, she was a nurse, she was NOT a nurse, she’s divorced, she’s schizophrenic, she’s polite, she picks up trash.

One South County resident told Patch the site is bullying. Some comment on the site that she is mentally ill, and should be pitied. Others are not so kind.

The creator of the South County Cindy page responds: "Growing up in South County, I always seen Cindy as a public figure and found it interesting she would pop up all over town in the most unexpected places. I don't want to be known as 'that guy' who created a hateful facebook page because that's not who I am."

In a further effort to deter any hateful tones, the page has issued a challenge to its fans--help a South County resident in need.

"We will continue to keep you updated with our famous Cindy, but she isn't the ONLY one out there who could use a 'pick me up' to get back on [sic] there feet," according to an update on June 24. "Let's see how me people who can get a pic of helping anybody in need!! If you can't get a pic, just mention it and you will be recognized!!! Also, we are starting to work with a group to possibly start a donation event to those in need during the holidays!! We will keep you posted with this."

Are you one of the thousands who ‘like’ this page? Do you think the page is unkind to 'Cindy' or does it serve a purpose?
