Dottie, Big Red, Jezebel, Sweetpea are Waiting for Great Homes

Dogs and cats available for adoption from the Open Door Animal Sanctuary

Dottie is a great little girl. She is a 3-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix. This is a girl that loves other dogs and even likes cats. Dottie can sit on command and just might be housebroken. Dottie, like most small dogs, doesn't really get along too well with very small children, older kids she's fine with. Dottie would prefer to be in a quiet household, but any household is better to her than this noisy kennel. If you are looking for a great little girl to complete your house, please come by and meet Dottie.

Big Red is the best dog in the shelter. He is a good old fashioned mixed breed guy that is roughly 3 years old. This is a boy that loves to play, loves to walk/run, and loves to be loved. Red is housebroken and knows a few basic commands. This is a highly intelligent dog that will be easily trained to do more. Red gets along with other dogs, mostly female dogs, but does not like cats. Or maybe he likes them too much. If you are looking for the prefect dog and can handle this 65 lb muscular man, come by and meet Red, you won't regret.

Jezebel is a wonderful older girl that's just looking for a comfortable place to call home. She would be completely happy with a couch, a window sill, and a person to love her, she's very low maintenance. Jezebel is roughly 9 years old and she is front paw declawed. Jezebel is a very laid back girl that really enjoys laying in sunbeams and lounging in all the beds. She enjoys being petted and brushed but she isn't too fond of being picked up. She does climb in laps and loves to sleep all snuggled up with people. If you would love to give an older girl a great home, please come and meet Jezebel.

Sweetpea is a girl that has been looking for a great home for a while now. As an 8-year-old girl, she is sort of set in her ways, but since she loves to sleep in laps, that's a good thing. Sweetpea is still active and loves to play, but she does enjoy lounging around as well. Sweetpea is definitely not the cat for small children, but she loves adults and is a sweet girl. This girl was wandering around the streets looking for a home and found her way to Open Door and we've been trying to find her a home ever since. If you spend some time with Sweetpea, you'll be sure to fall in love.
