According to a recent costume survey, creepy zombies costumes will be one of the most popular choices for Halloween this year. Zombies came out as the #4 choice for adults, beating out black cats, slinky vixens and hot nurses. It was also the #9 choice for kids—thankfully American youngsters would still rather dress up as a princess or action hero rather than a decomposing corpse.
The zombie rage can be credited to the rise of zombies in popular culture—there’s more zombies in movies, TV shows, video games and books than you can shake a rotten femur at these days.
Remember when you could just rub dirt in your clothes and green makeup on your skin and call yourself a zombie? Zombie connoisseurs need something much more exciting to stand out this year in the sea of undead.
