10 Weird Items Found on Local Grocery Store Shelves

If you’re the type to stick to your shopping list, you may miss some of the more interesting products found at local Fenton and High Ridge grocery stores.

Patch searched high and low at , , , and to find these unusual products. In no particular order, here are 10 products that caught our eye.

• Greg’s Hemp Salad Topping. Have a happy salad with this locally made seasoning, made with high protein hemp seeds roasted in sea salt. Not for smoking. Found at Schnucks.
• Woodstock Farms Veggie Chips. Eat your veggie (chips). Can’t get your kids to eat their veggies? Tell them these are just like potato chips. Except they’re not. Found at Dierbergs.
• Ener-G Foods Tapioca Loaf. It’s a sandwich, it’s dessert … it’s tapioca loaf! Wheat free, gluten free and dairy free—we’re not sure what else is still in there. Found at Dierbergs.
• WowButter. Is your kid’s school a peanut-free zone? Make your kid a WB&J, which sounds much tastier than a toasted soy spread and grape jelly sandwich. Found at Super Walmart.
• Meyenberg Powdered Goat Milk. All that farm fresh goaty flavor, now in a convenient shelf stable powder. We haven't tried it so we don't know if it's good or baaaad. Found at Shop ‘n Save.
• This Is Not Butter, It’s Butteriffic! It says on the package, “this is not butter.” So what is it? Found at Shop ‘n Save.
• Dickinson’s Lime Curd. Little Miss Moppet’s favorite topping for toast—lime curds. Also comes in coconut and vanilla flavors. Now to find the whey. Found at Schnucks.
• Reese Pickled Watermelon Rind. Everything tastes better when pickled, right? Found at Schnucks.
• Red Eye Java. Nothing says good morning like a giant bloodshot eyeball on your coffee can. Found at Dierbergs.
• Color Changing Jell-O. Go ahead and play with your food. Found at Super Walmart.
