Donated vehicles are a win-win situation for local residents and neighbors in need

Looking for a low-key, stress-free way to make a difference in the lives of others?  Consider donating your used vehicle to the Society of St. Vincent dePaul's "Vinnie's Autos" program.  In today's tough economic climate, many of your neighbors have the drive and the willingness to work, but no wheels to get them where they need to go.  A good used vehicle can make a life-changing difference for a family or individual struggling to make ends meet.

For most Vinnie's Autos clients, that vehicle means independence, confidence, and the chance to find and keep a much-needed job.  For others, it means the ability to keep critical medical appointments, care for family members, and attend classes to improve job prospects.

Vinnie's Autos accepts donated cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, boats, and other vehicles in any condition.  Cars and vans in running order are inspected, repaired and provided to clients at very low cost; other vehicles are sold to raise funds for SVdP's work helping the needy in your area.

Donating your vehicle is an opportunity to transform lives while receiving a tax break for yourself.  You can claim a deduction equal to the current fair market value of the vehicle when Vinnie's Autos is able to sell it to a needy person or nonprofit organization.  Even if it's not in running order, you still receive a tax deduction.  And don't worry about pick-up or towing… they are always free of charge.  Vinnie's Autos volunteers will work with you to cover all the details.

Have a vehicle to donate, or know someone who does?  Contact Greg Marino, Vinnie's Autos program coordinator, at (314) 881-6005 or gregm@svdpstl.org.  Your generosity means a second chance for area residents in need.
