Burglar Foils Unsecure Security Camera A burglar turned around a security camera and apparently deleted any potentially incriminating images Jan. 7 at a Fenton home after breaking into the residence by using a landscaping stone to break the front entry door sidelight. A coin collection was stolen. Chicken Thief Grabs 75 Birds A man hired to watch over chickens at a farm on Old Highway 141 in Fenton, stole 75 of the birds instead, according to police. The theft occurred on Oct. 30 and followed a dispute between the property owner and the man who was to watch over the chickens, police said. Meat is His Undoing A University City man faces criminal charges after police said he tried to steal porterhouse steaks from a  grocery store. Chicken-Eating Vodka Thief The store security staff at Dierbergs Market, in Arnold, watched a man stuff four bottles of Absolut vodka down his pants Sept. 30 and then walk through the store eating chicken from the deli, according to police. Ranting and Raving While Intoxicated A 42-year-old Kirkwood man was arrested and charged in municipal court with disorderly conduct  on Sept. 7 in the 10000 block of Manchester Road. Employees of a nearby business called Warson Woods police when the man was observed beating on his vehicle and screaming profanities and racial epithets in the parking lot. A son asked his mother for some money Aug. 23 in the parking lot of Neighbors Credit Union in Fenton after she had cashed her paycheck. He became upset when she refused to give him any money so he stole the money from her hand and ran off. What the Well-Dressed Bad Guy Wears A woman in Arnold reported that a man dressed like a ninja entered her  home, went into the bedroom, stole a computer, iPhone, iPad and $1,000 in cash. He then fled. Dog May Have Foiled Home Burglary A homeowner's dog may have scared away a potential burglar who broke into a home Apr. 17 on My Road, High Ridge. The deputy who responded to the burglary call reported that he found the front screen door torn but still secure and the rear door frame was broken near the doorknob. There were pry marks on the door frame and a dead bolt lock had not been secured. Nothing was missing from the home which led to speculation that the homeowner's dog scared the burglar away. Police said the suspect hid two bottles of vanilla extract in her purse and paid for the rest of her groceries, but failed to pay for the vanilla. Shrink-Wrapped Mazda, Left Running, is Stolen A 2011 Mazda CX-7 was stolen between Dec. 1 from the lot of Bommarito Mazda. Police said keys were left in the vehicle, which was left running in order to do work on the vehicle related to its battery. When the worker returned to the vehicle, it was gone. A Woman, Definitely Scorned, Stuns Ex-Boyfriend According to Chesterfield Police, Claire Canon, 18, of Chesterfield, went to the home of her ex-boyfriend on Dec. 30 and asked him for a hug. But instead of an embrace, Canon used a stun gun on him. After initially being knocked down by the electric pulse from the stun gun, he ran from the house where he was met by three masked men who proceeded to beat him in the street.
