There are those embarassing moments in sports, Lindbergh shot just 3 of 35 from the field and were destroyed 37-8 by rival Vianney in the opening game of the Coaches vs Cancer Shootout at Scottrade Center in downtown St. Louis.

And the Griffs played without the services of their top performer Brad Woodson who suffered a knock to the head Monday against Clayton and watched in street clothes.

"I was nervous not having Brad," said Griffs coach Sean Walsh."

Senior 6-foot-9 Sean O'Brien picked up the slack, leading all scorers with 17 points. He has offers from Harding College, Searcy, Arkansas and CBC of Memphis and looks from UMSL, Quincy, Central Missouri and others.

"I thought we played well. I'm glad we won," said O'Brien.

So too was Walsh. "I thought our team played hard, all the way through the 4th Quarter.

Lindbergh fell to 3-15 with the loss.

After the first quarter, Vianney held a 7-0 lead. The Griffs opened a second quarter lead of 13-0 and were never headed.
