Two Charged with Abandoning Jessica Eberhardt's Body

Jennifer Ann Brooks, 32, of Arnold, and Zachary Francis Meyer, 22, of Imperial, face felony charges, Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Forrest Wegge said Tuesday.

Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Forrest Wegge has charged two county residents with abandoning the body of  Jessica Eberhardt at the Urgent Care Center in Arnold late last year.

Jennifer Ann Brooks, 32, of Arnold, and Zachary Francis Meyer, 22, of Imperial, face felony charges for the abandonment of the High Ridge woman’s body at 3619 Richardson Square Drive around Dec. 21, 2010, Wegge said.

Brooks faces the additional charge of interfering with a police investigation, according to documents from the prosecutor’s office.

Eberhardt may have died of a drug overdose, Wegge said.

Eberhardt’s body was found in the passenger seat of her car on Dec. 28. The car was parked in the Urgent Care parking lot and covered in snow because of the December snowstorms.

Arnold Police Lt. Nick McBroom said previously that officers questioned a 32-year old woman and a 21-year old man about Eberhardt’s death.

Eberhardt was at a party on Valley View Drive and likely died of a drug overdose on Dec. 20, according to Arnold Police.

Brooks and Meyer are accused of placing Eberhardt's body in her car, driving and parking the car at the Urgent Care center in Arnold, and leaving the car unlocked with the keys in the ignition, police said.

They are also accused of not notifying law enforcement officers about Eberhardt's body, the documents said.

Brooks and Meyer are waiting for a trial date.
