Valley Oak Drive, Imperial
A burglar who forced entry into a home through a rear door Nov. 6 on Valley Oak Drive, Imperial, got away with an estimated $10,300 worth of gold jewelry and watches, according to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
Missing were a gold charm/bar with a gold "rope" necklace and "24" etched on the bar, eight watches (one white, one rolled gold, and one porcelain. No descriptions on the other watches), and a gold pinkie ring with the initials DR on top of the ring.
A sheriff's deputy's report indicated the victim returned home from work and noticed the glass on a rear French door was broken and his bedroom in disarray. The homeowner told the deputy the jewelry items were missing from a jewelry box that was in the master bedroom closet. The homeowner was unable to name a possible suspect in the burglary, but a sheriff's deputy was able to lift partial fingerprints from a fish bowl in the master bedroom. A canvass of the area was conducted, but it didn't provide any useful information.
Veterans Road, Cedar Hill
An unidentified man wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt of jacket, blue jeans, back gloves and what appeared to be a Halloween mask, forced open the cover of an ATM machine Nov. 6 at a business on Veterans Road in Cedar Hill, and gained access to the safe inside, causing $699.78 in damages. Video surveillance recording showed someone approaching the ATM machine on foot from a nearby field, but no identification could be made. The incident is still under investigation.
Plymouth Drive, High Ridge
Copper parts were removed from an air conditioner and a furnace in a vacant home Nov. 4 on Plymouth Drive, High Ridge. Numerous other copper lines were cut and removed. While on patrol, a sheriff's deputy had noticed there was a missing side basement window on the home, Upon further investigation it was revealed that the window had been pushed in. A deputy was unable to contact the real estate company that manages the property for any additional information. The investigation is ongoing.
