New Jefferson County Library Collections Go Digital

Books, audiobooks and other interactives tools are now available 24/7 on the library's website.

Jefferson County Library patrons can now 'check out' books online, according to a news release from the library.

The library has added three new digital collections of books, audiobooks and interactive videos for children, teens and adults from Tumblebooks Cloud. Take a look at these resources on the JCL web site Click on “Databases” in the drop down menu on the left side of the page.

  • Tumblebooks Cloud is an online collection of contemporary and classic books (fiction and nonfiction), graphic novels, educational videos and audio books for teens and adults.  All of the books are available all of the time using any device with internet access.  There are over 500 titles for middle/high school students including content that supports the Common Core Curriculum. 
  • TumbleBookCloud Junior is geared to primary and elementary level readers with chapter books, graphic novels, National Geographic videos and audio books!
  • TumbleTalkingBooks is a great resource of online streaming audio books for all ages from young children to adults. You don’t have to download the content; just click and listen. You can access the books online anywhere, anytime. You never have to check them out, bring them back, or wait your turn for a title. Teachers can use them in the classroom, since multiple users can listen to the same book simultaneously.

Funding was provided by donations to the Jefferson County Library Foundation’s Annual Appeal. Those interested in supporting JCL’s efforts to provide online access to books, audiobooks and videos should consider a donation to the Jefferson County Library Foundation. The Foundation is focused on providing a 21st century library for Jefferson County. Just go to the library web site and click on the Wish List button on the right side of the page. Donations can be made online with a credit card or secure PayPal connection. All donations to the Jefferson County Library Foundation are tax deductible.
