The following information was reported by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
Two horse plows and a horse bucket were among the items stolen sometime between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27 from a property on South Bridge Drive in Dittmer. The property owner said he had been storing the items on the property because that's where he does his "scrapping," according to a sheriff's deputy's report. The missing items included the horse plows and bucket, as well as two decks for riding lawn mowers, a 25-horsepower Mercury outboard motor, a snow plow for a mower, a table saw with a stand, a motor hoist, a Murray push mower, two gas fireplaces, 15 to 20 pounds of electric motors, two sets of car ramps, 30 to 40 pounds of cast aluminum, 30 to 40 pounds of copper wire, trailer tires and rims, a Ford YT16 riding mower and miscellaneous mechanic's tools.
The value of the items was set at $3,800 to $4,300.
The thefts were discovered Sept. 27. All of the items had been located in the yard at the property, except for the mechanic's tools, which had been in a padlocked shed that had been forced open, according to the deputy's report.
