A number of nominees in our Food Fight for the best chili spot blew in on the winds today, many with comments like "no doubt" and "for sure."

We called for nominations on Monday to get your opinion on who has the best chili in South County, which includes Arnold and High Ridge. You'll see a poll at the end of this article that includes the results of our nomination process. There are some familiar names, and some that may not be on the tip of your tongue.

The nominees are:

• Dulany's Grille and Pub, Mehlville
• Jilly's Cafe and Steakhouse, High Ridge
• Cafe Manhattan, Affton
• Steak 'n Shake, various locations

The rest is up to you. We'll tally the results of the chili Food Fight at 5 p.m. Friday and post the winners Saturday morning. Vote for your favorite and tell your friends about this friendly competition as well.
