Fenton, High Ridge Area Organizations Well-Represented At NRA Convention
Education and sales go hand in hand for locals at this year's National Convention in St. Louis.
Anyone walking through the annual convention at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in St. Louis will be witness to seven acres of what many here have called "Nirvana" for gun enthusiasts.
For local firms and organizations from the Fenton and High Ridge areas, it has been an opportunity to educate and market.
"This is a big deal, you get 60 thousand people to walk through here, trying to let people know what the Remington Society does this is a good way to get the word out, " said Billy Smith, Merchandise Manager and a Director of the High Ridge-based Remington Society of America.
According to the organization's website, The Remington Society is "An organization dedicated to the collection and study of Remington firearms, ammunition and history."
"Just about anything you can imagine is going to be here for you to hold and see it and just be able to physically see what you want and buy," Smith said.
That concept is helping Fenton's SABRE Security Equipment Corp. which is exhibiting at the company's third NRA convention. Aimee Johnson, in National Sales for the company, said, "Everybody loves guns and that’s great," but that SABRE is capitalizing on the market for personal safety of the non-lethal variety, and that people are coming to them for Pepper Spray, which is produced in Fenton.
