3-Vehicle Crash Sends One Driver to Hospital with Moderate Injuries

Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A three-car pile-up at Highway 141 and Romaine Creek Road, in the Fenton area of Jefferson County, resulted in a trip to the hospital for an Arnold man, whose injuries were described as moderate, according to a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

The crash occurred at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 141 just north of Romaine Creek Road when a 2002 Lincoln Town Car driven by Mary Pardiek, 76, of Hillsboro, and a 1983 Honda motorcycle driven by Robert B. Layne, 44, of Arnold,  stopped for traffic ahead near the Highway 141/ Romaine Creek Road intersection, according to the MSHP.

The crash report indicated that Alison Parr, 21, of Fenton, who was driving a 1991 Pontiac Bonneville, failed to see the other two vehicles had stopped and struck the rear of the motorcycle, which then struck the rear of the Town Car.

Pardiek and Parr sustained injuries described as minor in the MSHP report. Payne was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center by the Rock Township Ambulance District.  All of the drivers involved were wearing seat belts, except for Payne on his motorcycle.

Get the facts straight. The only injuries were to the motorcycle driver, Alison did not fail to see the cars stopped, they all stopped short. Alison barely hit the motorcycle as evident by all minute damage to the 3 vehicles involved. Everyone, as all drivers in St. Louis do, were following to close. In St. Louis, if you leave a car length between you and the car in front, someone will squeeze in.

If your family member was in the first or second car and she was rear ended by another motorist, would you still be saying the same "oh well, everyone does it" statements?
